I was born and raised in Indonesia. I moved to the United States in my late teen-early adulthood due to political turmoil and monetary crisis in my home country. I fluently speak Indonesian, Sundanese, and English. I am currently learning Spanish. As someone with multicultural background (Chinese Dutch Indonesian) married to a Latino, I know that our cultural lenses shape our world view and influence how we function.
Through my personal struggles during tumultuous time, I have learned that having the right mindset and winning attitude can determine the trajectory of our life. While we cannot change the past, we all have choice on how to respond to our circumstances adaptively and effectively.
My Background
About Whillma Quenicka, PhD.
Mission Statement
I am a Clinical Psychologist and Certified Addiction Treatment Counselor. I see top performers and overachievers struggle and manage life with unhealthy habits that can lead to painful consequences. Witnessing how bad habits such as substance addiction destroy the life of people who devote their career and life to help others breaks my heart! I often wished I could help them sooner when it was just a bad habit, before it became an addiction. Breaking a bad habit is already hard as it is, let alone addiction. I believe prevention is much cheaper than intervention! I decided to create a coaching program that can help top performers create a more balanced life style to access a more regulated nervous system for emotional containment. My mission is to help professionals to confidently resetting their nervous system for an improved sense of well-being. Let me support you through discomfort and walk alongside your journey into new, exciting and purposeful change. |
Coaching Philosophy
It is my belief that strong alliance is essential in providing a transformative coaching experience in the process of winning life. I am very hopeful that you can and will get better when you learn in a safe, warm, fun, and non-judgmental environment.
“The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change”
-Carl Rogers
